£65

Venue: MAKE Southwest

Suitable for: Adults

Level: Beginners

Come and carve a wooden spoon, with MAKE Southwest Maker Member, Alex Finberg.

Come and carve a wooden spoon! We will use simple hand tools and age old techniques to carve wooden spoons from a spoon blank to a finished cooking spoon. There is something extremely satisfying about carving and then using a wooden spoon!

This course is recommended for complete beginners who have never carved a spoon before through to people who have perhaps carved in the past or need to brush up on their carving skills.

All materials and tools will be provided.

About Alex

Alex is a British green wood worker based in South Devon, using age old carving techniques to carve wood into beautiful, functional woodenware from wind fallen and sustainably cut local trees.

He is an advocate for the new wood culture movement and the rediscovering of our relationship to the origins of everyday things, the trees they grew from and the people who made them.
