Team Building Days at MAKE Southwest

Bring your team together for a unique, hands-on carving experience that combines creativity, mindfulness, and spoon carving in the beautiful setting of MAKE Southwest with award-winning maker Alex Finberg.

Reconnect, Recharge & Carve will help your team feel restored and inspired. Carving reduces stress, builds resilience, and nurtures creativity.

Spend the day using the morning to focus on your business, have some lunch on our sunny terrace and then in the afternoon carve a cooking spoon or coffee scoop with maker Alex Finberg. Alex is an advocate for the wellbeing benefits of woodcraft. He is passionate about using carving as a means for mindfulness, stress relief, and harnessing the healing power of hands-on creativity. All participants get 10% in the shop throughout the day of event.

About Alex

Alex is an award-winning craftsman and author based in South Devon. Using traditional carving techniques, he creates beautiful, functional woodenware from windfallen and sustainably sourced local trees.

He is a passionate advocate for the therapeutic benefits of spooncarving. He teaches a range of workshops and courses and is the founder of the social prescribing initiative 'Woodcraft for Wellbeing'. 

His book Spooncarving: From Log to Spoon was published by Crowood Press in Autumn 2024 and is available at Riverside Mill and via online stockists.
