Alex is an award-winning craftsman and author based in South Devon. Using traditional carving techniques, he creates beautiful, functional woodenware from windfallen and sustainably sourced local trees.
He is a passionate advocate for the therapeutic benefits of spooncarving. He teaches a range of workshops and courses and is the founder of the social prescribing initiative 'Woodcraft for Wellbeing'.
His book Spooncarving: From Log to Spoon was published by Crowood Press in Autumn 2024 and is available at Riverside Mill and via online stockists
