Environmental Responsibility

Here at MAKE Southwest, we’re looking at our environmental responsibilities and commitments.

We want to ensure that we act, and to make our actions meaningful. We’re want to build on our pioneering Green Maker Initiative, and look at how we can adapt our nineteenth century building to reduce our carbon footprint.

We’re working on this, thinking about what nature would say about everything we do now and in the future. We’ve been looking into what other organisations do, and how we can work with and learn from them. We’re thinking about appointing nature to our board via a human ‘Nature Guardian’, who would have a vote on our decisions that might affect long-term sustainability.

What do you think? What should we be striving to achieve? We’re keen to hear from you however you interact with MAKE Southwest: visitor, maker-member, craftsperson…
