Tapestry Weaving Drop-in Day

with the Devon Tapestry Weavers

Thursday 16 May 2024, 12pm - 2.30pm

£10 (cash on arrival)

Venue: MAKE Southwest

Suitable for: Adults

Level: All abilities

Devon Tapestry Weavers have been meeting for over thirty years - come and visit us on our Open Day at any time between 12pm and 2.30pm on the 16th May.

There will be a small charge of £10 to join and payment can be made in cash on the day.

Traditional tapestry is woven on a loom using warp and a variety of weft threads to produce an image. It is an inexpensive hobby requiring only a frame, yarn and your imagination.

Devon Tapestry Weavers continue this centuries old practice with a more contemporary twist but still using same the process – although with much smaller looms! Come and visit us: we will have looms and yarn for you to play with and you will be able to chat to members and see our work.

For more information on tapestry weaving, have a look at The British Tapestry Group website: thebritishtapestrygroup.co.uk

On the Day

All tools and materials will be provided.

Rodney’s Cafe is now open should you wish to purchase refreshments during your visit.

On arrival, please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.

Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces. Click here for more information on our location and car parking for the day.
