Claire is a designer maker, researcher and Architect, who’s work centres on materiality and user perception.
Her work integrates digital tools with traditional craft practices, working closely with materials and techniques for their manipulation, aiming to understand their characteristics, thereby unlocking new potential for their use.
Claire is currently a PhD researcher in the Centre for Print Research at the University of the West of England, Bristol, where she also teaches.
Her thesis is titled “Ply Could?” and is an exploration of the use of ultra-thin plywood as a sustainable material for making, experimenting with techniques for steam bending using 3D printed formers.
