Megan Hall | Printmaking | Devon

Megan is a traditional printmaker based in Devon, working under the name Flotsam Prints. Inspired by the quiet power and ever-changing beauty of nature-especially water-her work captures fleeting moments of stillness and movement in the natural world. Megan specialises in reduction linocut, a meticulous and layered process that allows her to build depth, tone, and mood with each carved and printed stage.

Megan’s practice is deeply connected to place, often informed by her outdoor swims and long walks along the Devon coast. Her prints are a dialogue between memory and mark-making, where fluidity meets control. The result is work that feels meditative and immersive, inviting the viewer into intimate outdoor moments.

Looking ahead, her aspiration is to continue deepening the conversation between her practice and the landscapes or rather, seascapes that inspire it. Water will always be Megan's greatest muse and she hopes to push the technical boundaries of reduction printing while keeping its meditative core, exploring larger-scale works, expanded colour palettes, and perhaps incorporating more abstract elements.
