Louise Scammell | Printmaking | Devon
Louise Scammell has a background in graphic illustration. This has subsequently led to Printmaking, a field in which she has been working and developing for over 20 years.
Her work predominantly describes the marine environment both above and below the surface.
She attended a residency in Spain learning 'Mokulito' (wood lithography) with Ewa Budka in 2017 and held a showcase exhibition of this technique during 2019 at MAKE Southwest (formerly Devon Guild of Craftsmen).
Her practice involves making monotypes, etchings, wood lithographs and linocuts. She spends time in the field making sketches both on land and also in the sea where she uses an underwater sketch pad.
She is an associate of the Society of Wildlife Artists and exhibits in the Mall Galleries, London at 'The Natural Eye'
She taught at Dartington Printmakers for 14 years and is now setting up a new print workshop in South Brent at the 'Art House' where she will be teaching.
