Paper Dolls

Workshop with Kate Toms

Friday 15th December 2023, 10am - 4.30pm

£75

Venue: MAKE Southwest

Suitable for: Adults

Level: All

Be prepared to get your hands sticky on this one day, character creation workshop.

Participants will be shown the process of making a small paper mache figure which can then be personalised with cloth, paper and paint.

Made almost entirely from scrap paper and cloth, you can choose to create a festive fairy for the top of the tree, Father Christmas – or something (someone) completely different!

Due to time constraints of the day, a readymade body will be supplied, leaving only the head for you to complete….

An assortment of scraps will be available, but, for an individual outcome, please bring some pieces/scraps of lightweight fabric, papers, buttons, beads, ephemera etc.

Suitable for all levels, with some very basic hand sewing in the mix.

Please note, outcomes will not be suitable as toys for children.

Equipment to bring on the day:

Scissors (for cloth and paper)

Needle and thread

Bits and bobs (as above)

On the Day

Please wear old clothes.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are included and will be available on the day. Lunch will not be provided so please bring a packed lunch.

On arrival, please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.

Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces
