About Liz

Textile artist Liz Clay creates hand felted fabrics for haute couture and one off pieces to commission. She trained in visual arts and textile design at Bath School of Art and Design in the late 90s. Since then her professional career has focused entirely on felt making process and material research of wool. British wool plays a significant role in her designs. Inspired by the textures and natural colours of this sustainable and beautiful material her research knowledge and practice embody a trademark fascination for the translucent potential of British wools. Collaborations with haute couture and private commissions present a diverse portfolio of unique items recognised nationally and internationally.
