A Ceramic Journey
a talk by Sue Pryke
Wednesday 5 June 2024, 2pm - 3.15pm
£10
Venue: MAKE Southwest
This workshop coincides with our Jubilee Gallery exhibition: '20 Years in the Making' - a celebration of 20 years of the Craft Festival.
Sue Pryke will talk about her ceramic practice, from humble beginnings at a rural pottery in the 1980s to working as a designer at Wedgwood which led onto designing one of the worlds largest dinnerware collections for IKEA.
She has also presented the The Great Pottery Throwdown alongside Keith Brymer Jones on Channel 4.
Sue’s ceramic journey has been focused around her passion for tableware and the ceramic industry and produces contemporary slipcast ware within a craft context. Her studio pottery collection can be found in selective galleries, retailers and high end restaurants.
The talk will last for approximately 45 mins with 30 mins for questions.
