Bovey Tracey is a picturesque town, based on the edge of Dartmoor. Boasting a wonderful array of artisan shops and eateries, as well as tourist attractions such as National Trust Parke, House of Marbles, Jolly Roger, Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, Bovey Paradiso and MAKE Southwest.
High streets aren't as busy as they once were, after the rise of out of town and online shopping. The Bovey for Business association are determined to not let this stop them, “We believe that everyone needs their local high street; from basic essentials to artisan food, crafts & gifts, and we have these in an abundance.” Towns can modernise and local businesses can differentiate themselves with something that out of town and online can’t offer – that fabulous, in-person customer service, that we all want and love.
The key to keeping these fabulous high streets and shops open is supporting them and Business for Bovey are keen to draw customers from far and wide to come and explore their fabulous town.

Pom Stitch Tassel & Friends Christmas Market
Friday 1st December, 4-8pm
Head to 53 Fore Street for a festive evening to browse, shop & chat with some fabulous artisan makers. There will be a glass of bubbles, homemade mince pies & festive tunes too.
Bovey Tracey Carnival presents the Christmas Market & Light Switch On
Saturday 2nd December, 2-6pm
Join our fabulous town as we illuminate the high street and Christmas tree in all its glory. Shop artisan stalls, enjoy a mulled wine & some street food whilst listening to a beautiful choir. For the families, there will be Funlands rides, as well as Santa to visit in his grotto. Many of the town’s local retail businesses will also be opening late until 6pm.
Artisan Market & Art Exhibitions
Saturday 9th December, 10am – 5pm
Granite Elements will be hosting an artisan market in the Methodist Church Hall all day. Shop handmade gifts from some fabulous Southwest makers. There will also be art exhibitions to explore at Bovey Paradiso & MAKE Southwest so why not make a day of it!
