Blandine Anderson

THE ROAD TO THE SEA

1 October – 26 November 2022

A collection of hand-built stoneware and porcelain pieces, together with supporting painted works on canvas.

The collection is based on a handful of coastal locations in Devon and Cornwall, which for Blandine evoke a strong sense of expectation as one approaches the sea and an all-consuming curiosity to find out what is around the next bend or over the next rise. Blandine says:

The works are glimpses of these places, referring to the remnants of their human history, and the creatures that now inhabit them.

Travelling the road to the sea is still a heart stopping adventure for me.
I have never lost that sense of expectation; a burning curiosity to discover what’s over the next ridge or rise.

What will the new tide bring?
