Ana Simoes trained as a designer-jeweller and gem-setter in Portugal and in the UK. She worked as a jeweller in London before relocating to Plymouth in 2016; where she designs and handcrafts her work.
Ana’s jewellery pays homage to her Portuguese and Moorish heritage, and to the country’s unique architecture. The colourful ornamental repeat patterns seen in Portuguese tiles are celebrated through the use of gold, silver and gemstones.
An avid user of computer-aided design (CAD), 3D printing and lost-wax casting; Ana combines traditional jewellery making techniques and contemporary design skills, to create timeless jewellery pieces with a distinctive aesthetic.
