Abigail has been producing contemporary designs in silverware and jewellery since graduating in 2001. She works in silver using traditional and contemporary methods, specialising in hand raised vessels, bowls, and objects.
Research themes have included the human body, nature, and archaeological heritage, underpinning her work is a deeply rooted relationship the landscape and environment.
Photography and observational drawings are the basis for Abigail’s work, exploring organic and structured forms. She is increasingly influenced by her surroundings in Cornwall, the idea of the body as a landscape and seeking particular inspiration from the ancient monuments and plant life.
In December 2014 Abigail was honoured as a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and in June 2015 she was granted the Freedom of the City of London. She was a finalist for the BKV Prize 2010 for Young Applied Arts and awarded the Bavarian States Prize in 2015.
Abigail’s silverware is widely collected and is included in the public collection of National Museum Wales in Cardiff. It has been included in many significant exhibitions including Collect by the Crafts Council, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Saatchi Gallery, Goldsmiths Hall, and the German Goldsmiths' House in Hanau.
