Guest Maker: Bonnie Mustoe- Whitehill

I am a jewellery maker and mixed-media artist, based in Plymouth, Devon. I create jewellery and tactile objects based on natural forms and focus my practice largely on casting techniques, working with various materials such as glass, metals and rubbers. I also run workshops with a range of ages, teaching basic casting techniques across a range of media.
I graduated from the 3D Design Crafts course at Arts University Plymouth in 2022, and in early 2023 got my first studio at Flameworks, Plymouth.
Most recently, I was selected as a winner of the Devon & Plymouth Chamber of Commerce’s 30 Under 30 award for 2023. In 2022, I won the runner-up New Designer of the Year Award at the Business Design Centre, London, and was visiting lecturer at Swansea College of Art UWTSD. My work has been exhibited at Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth and MAKE Southwest, Bovey Tracey. I am currently taking part in the Make Southwest Emerging Makers Programme 2023, and mentored by artist Helen Snell.
I have produced a collection of jewellery based around seeds, using recycled silver and brass. I use natural forms as starting points within my work, these are often found when exploring different landscapes. I have included these pieces in my Guest Maker showcase at MAKE Southwest.
