Meet and Mend at MAKE!

Easter holiday workshop with Darn Good Studio

Tuesday 8 April 2025, 1.30pm - 4.30pm

FREE, drop-in

Venue: MAKE Southwest, Workshop Space (first floor)

Suitable for: Everyone (but young makers might need help from an adult)

Level: All Abilities

Join Molly Rooke of Darn Good Studio for a gentle social mending session.

This is a chance to sit, have a cup of tea, do some mending and meet others in an informal setting, making the most of Molly’s mending expertise, books and second hand materials.

Bring an item that needs a bit of love - your ripped jeans, your jumper with a hole, a shirt with a tear and we will do some visible mending.

All ages welcome, but young makers might need help from an adult and under 16s should be accompanied.

No need to book, just turn up!

About Molly

Molly Rooke is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and arts-focused digital strategist with a deep commitment to creative communities. Molly has taught across a range of settings, fostering engagement with printmaking and contemporary creative practices. She currently serves as the Programming and Marketing Manager at Double Elephant Print Workshop, where she curates their studio programming and leads strategic marketing initiatives.

Molly is also the founder of Darn Good Studio, a clothing repair initiative that views mending as both a radical and community-driven act. Through workshops and advocacy, she challenges fast fashion and consumer waste, promoting repair as a form of sustainability, resistance, and storytelling. By bringing people together through shared skills and collective action, her work with Darn Good Studio fosters a culture of care—for our clothes, our communities, and the environment.

Molly’s practice is defined by a passion for accessible, community-driven creativity, bridging the gap between traditional artistic disciplines, digital engagement, and sustainable craft.
