A Green Maker Initiative Workshop

Join MAKE Southwest Make Member, Megan Stallworthy from Celandine Books, to make a beautiful and functional, handbound book and case.

Japanese-style books are elegant and practical bindings, ideal for artists and printmakers working with the book form, or for anybody who would like to make their own sketchbook or notebook.

We will make 4 different Toji binding styles, (four hole, noble, tortoise shell and hemp leaf) all housed within a Hako Chitsu, a traditional Japanese folding case which is covered in cloth, lined with decorative paper and finished with bone clasps.

This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some bookbinding experience who would like to extend their skills.

All tools and materials are provided.

Participants must be aged 18 years or older.
