David Robertson is an award-winning artist who specialises in wood engraving. David walks and sketches in the countryside, creating engravings from these drawings back in his studio. Wood engravings are made on end grain wood blocks using traditional tools.
An associate member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and member of the Society of Wood Engravers, his work is held in public collections at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford; Manchester Metropolitan University; Royal Collections Trust, Windsor Castle; Central Academy Fine Art, Beijing and Heilongjiang Museum of Printmaking as well as private collections around the world.

David Robertson is an artist who specialises in wood engraving. He walks and sketches in the countryside, creating engravings from these drawings back in his studio located in Bath.
Wood engravings are made on end grain wood blocks using traditional tools. Once the engraving is finished, David inks the surface of the block and prints directly from it. Each print is signed by the artist and individually numbered as part of the edition. For example, number 10/60 means the 10th print in an edition of 60.
David’s artwork is held in public collections at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and Manchester Metropolitan University as well as private collections around the world.
David an elected member of the Society of Wood Engravers.
