THE PANDEMIC EFFECT

The covid pandemic put a complete stop to my normal lettering creative practice. Despite having some stone in stock and a file called, Rainy Day Projects, I just could not access the place in my head where I usually went to carry out such intense work. But, like many creative people, I had to do something. In my new, slightly hyper state and with hours of time I built new kitchen units with recycled wood. After this I redesigned and attacked the garden. Then followed an extraordinary period of inertia where I felt utterly exhausted. The only craft I wanted to do was make some hokey pokey cushions my mum taught me to do when I was six. With friends in Devon and Cornwall I could no longer visit, I made a pair for each county whilst day dreaming of happier times there.
