Lesley Forrest

There has been a fascinating shift in creative thought during lockdown, a slowing down of the mind and the physicality of life. A stepping back, a rethink, a different way of seeing, a reconnecting with the past. A reflecting on artisanal techniques learned long ago, where knitting, crochet, tatting and sewing formed a part of the everyday.

With that in mind, I started to experiment with knit using a variety of non-conventional fibres with an emphasis on the natural and the sustainable to give a contemporary twist.

Linen paper yarn and variegated indigo linen paper have been combined to produce a parure; a combination of a matching necklace, bracelet, earrings, and hairband (tiara).

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
