Angela Holmes
Angela Holmes | Sculpture | Devon
Angela is a sculptor working in stone and clay. Living near to moor and sea, she internalises the landscapes which inspire and challenge her.
Forms evolve, outlines refine and textures are explored; above all, she seeks to unlock movement and defy the gravity within materials. Her finished works stand with a quiet presence addressing the contemplative mode of the viewer.
In compliment to sculptures, Angela makes collagraph prints which are literally prints made from collages. Found textures in nature as well as the manmade sculptor's debris such as sandpaper, scrim and corrugated cardboard collaborate to explore sculptural aspects of land and sea.
Angela's studio, Clay Door Studio lies in the heart of Chudleigh where she gives regular classes in ceramics.
She is a member of Southwest Sculptors and Westcountry Potters Associations and has exhibited widely in sculpture gardens and galleries in the West country.
