Join Ian Wilkins our Education Manager for a taster workshop in which you will learn how to design, carve, and print your own linocut.

We will cover the basic equipment and processes involved in creating a linocut block and print, with opportunity to look at exemplar linocuts to help you with creating your own design.

This workshop will cover the following:

  • Inspiration and exemplar prints

  • Creating and printing a test linocut block

  • Drawing a design and transferring to a linoleum block

  • Cutting tools and techniques

  • Monochromatic printing with time to explore some colour choices

  • Chine collé (as a method of introducing additional colour)

  • Printmaking paper choices

There will be a 30 min lunch break between 12:30pm - 1pm.

All tools and materials will be provided.

This workshop is aimed at complete beginners and so no previous experience of printmaking is necessary!
