Make a Clay River Pot

Workshop with Donna White

Wednesday 9 August 2023, 10am -4pm

£90

Venue: MAKE Southwest

Suitable for: Adults

Level: All levels

Join Donna White in a workshop where you will learn how to hand build a unique clay vessel embedded with locally sourced natural materials from the River Dart.

During the session you will learn to hand build elegant coiled pots , combining clay with river sediment and natural materials collected from the villages and towns along the River Dart, from its source on Dartmoor to the sea at Dartmouth. Oxides can be used to add colour. While the outside of the pots will be left unfired to preserve the natural elements , the inside can be glazed for practical use and to create a smooth and beautiful contrast.

This workshop is open to all abilities and no previous experience of ceramics is necessary.

Your ceramic vessel will be fired by Donna and returned to MAKE Southwest for collection.

All tools and materials will be provided. Please wear old clothes.
