Part of the Responding to Light photography events collection.

Saturday 23 September 2023, 2pm - 3.30pm

£8

Venue: The Dolphin Hotel, Station Road, Bovey Tracey

Suitable for: Adults

In looking back on over forty years as a professional photographer, Joe Cornish looks at the parallel evolution and revolution of his own work and the industry’s transition from film and chemicals to digital technology.

Inspired by the reality of the natural world, and shocked by the scientific evidence of its rapid decline, he explains his commitment to wilderness and the regeneration of the wild world. He also draws on his fine art background to explore the way landscape photographers can find parallels and common cause with artists who paint, sculpt, compose and play music, write poetry, dance, and sing.”

This event is part of a programme of talks and workshops around the exhibition Responding to Light: the diversity of modern photography, at MAKE Southwest, 16 September - 4 November 2023.

The exhibition will showcase some of the huge range of techniques, subjects, and skills associated with contemporary British photography, including digital and analogue technologies, in large and small scales, 2D and 3D forms.

There is an extensive programme of events around this exhibition, including talks and masterclasses with most of the exhibitors. Please see our other events.

Please note, we have a specific cancellation policy for all events associated with this exhibition due to the distances speakers will be travelling. View cancellation policy HERE.
