Green Maker Initiative Craft Fair

Saturday 9 September 2023

10am - 4pm

FREE Entry

Jubilee Gallery

On Saturday 9th September, 10am - 4pm, our very own Green Maker Initiative will be taking over the Jubilee Gallery (MAKE Southwest, Riverside Mill), between exhibitions, for another craft fair with the emphasis on sustainability.

A number of our Pledged Green Makers will be selling their sustainable craft, from a wide range of disciplines. The makers will choose whether they are selling seconds or if they are representing sustainability in their creative practice and process, but one thing is for sure, you’ll be able to get your hands on some beautiful handmade craft.

Make a day of it…

Saturday 9 September is set to be a lively one in Bovey Tracey as the streets are lined with tasty treats for Nourish Festival.

Bovey Tracey's festival Nourish, launched in 2014, celebrates the very best in food, craft and music. Building upon the success of Craft Festival, held every June, the team behind Nourish are keen to bring a new flavour to Bovey Tracey. Set in the heart of the town, Nourish is a weekend of events designed to feed the body, the mind and the senses.

Nourish is a community initiative led by Craft Festival & The Cheese Shed.

National Saturday Craft Club Taster Session

Are you aged between 13- 16 years old? Come along to a FREE Textile workshop as a 'taster' for our next National Saturday Club due to commence in September 2023.

The Trouser Leg Challenge!

Explore and experiment with what you can create from using only a pair of trousers!

Corsets, skirts, dresses, rucksacks, tote bags....With expert guidance from two up-cycling designer-makers you will be shown some simple sewing and pattern cutting techniques which will vary depending on what project you decided to concentrate on.

As well as trousers to be used, there will be ribbons and eyelets, beads, paints, vinyl and fabric off cuts which will be available for you to decorate your creations.

This workshop will be lead by Abigail Schaefer and Alice Woods.

Or find out more HERE.

Exhibitions

We are taking advantage of using the Jubilee Gallery between the take down of one exhibition and the set up of another. However, as always, we will still have 2 fantastic exhibitions on the go in our smaller Riverside and Maker Showcase galleries.
