Artful Craft

2 April - 2 July 2022

Exploring the boundaries between craft and fine art.
Curated by MAKE Southwest President Peter Randall-Page RA.

Celebrating our re-launch in 2022 with an exhibition focusing on the nature of craft, art and design in the 21st century.

We are delighted that our president Peter Randall-Page RA, whose own work effortlessly straddles concepts in art with traditional craft execution, has agreed to curate an exhibition which addresses the labels, status and boundaries associated with craft and fine art as well as the impact of new technologies such as digital design and rapid prototyping.

Peter has selected a small number of outstanding artists for this exhibition who, like him, work across traditional boundaries. Alongside their work we invited these artists to nominate another artist/maker whose work interests them. This could be an early career artist, an older artist who has been a significant influence, or simply someone whose work addresses the art/craft theme of the show.

Exhibitors:

Alice Dudgeon, Amanda Cobbett, Amy Shelton, Andrea Liu, David Mach RA, David Nash RA OBE, Halima Cassell MBE, Jonathan Keep, Marcus Vergette, Peter Randall-Page RA, Sarah Gillespie, Susan Derges, Tavs Jørgensen.
