Maker Member FAQs

Shop & Stock

If your specific query isn’t answered here, please email our Retail Gallery Team: shop@makesouthwest.org.uk.

Where can I find my next stock number?

For now, you can email shop@makesouthwest.org.uk for your next stock number. In the very near future we will be changing our stock numbering system which will mean that Maker Members won’t be required to remember their last stock number, but can simply start from 1 each time they bring in new stock! But information about that will be circulated when the time comes.

I don’t have Excel so I can’t use the new format stock sheet; what should I do?

No need to worry, you can access the same stock sheet online HERE.

Google Sheets works in the same way as Excel but anyone can use it. Once you have entered your data, simply download to your machine and send to us. Once downloaded, please ensure you delete your data from the online spreadsheet so that others can use it.

Who should I contact about bringing in new work and removing old work from The Mill? And do I need to book a time slot to do so?

Before bringing any stock to the shop you should contact shop@makesouthwest.org.uk to arrange a scheduled time to come in. This allows us to allocate appropriate time to log and process the new stock with each Maker Member. We will shortly be launching an online booking facility to make the process even easier.

Who do I contact for shop stock questions?

Any shop stock questions should be directed to our Retail Gallery Team. This can either be done by calling the office on 01626 832223 or emailing shop@makesouthwest.org.uk.

Website

Why don’t I have a profile on the website?

Simply complete this online form to provide us with the information we need to complete your online Maker Profile.

The first page of the form will ask you for your bio text and images so have those ready. The second page only requires confirmation of your contact details (for office use only) so there is no preparation needed.

We aim to have your Maker Profile uploaded within 5 working days of your form submission.

Who do I contact if I want to update my maker profile on the website?

Edits to online profiles in Maker Directory can only be made by the MAKE Southwest team. Please email hello@makesouthwest.org.uk providing details (and images if relevant) of the information you would like to amend.

General

If in doubt, contact hello@makesouthwest.org.uk and your enquiry will be forwarded to the relevant person.

When are you going to open the café again?

The Terrace Cafe was part of Devon Guild Ltd which went into administration in Summer 2020. We don’t have the money or the staff to reinstate the cafe at this stage. So, regrettably we won’t be opening the cafe doors for the foreseeable future.

We understand that it was a big draw for many of our customers and we do hope that in some way we can have the space open again. Unfortunately, it is not at the top of our priorities list at the moment.

Who is the Chair of the Board of Trustees?

Andrew North (Interim)
