Dragon Of Ice
Lucy Jean Green is a Kinetic Artist and Paper Sculptor.
Inspired by mythology and fact surrounding birds and the natural world, she creates sculptures and delicate automata by hand cutting paper and hand-crafting brass mechanisms. Each sculpture is displayed inside a glass bell jar with a wooden base, or encased in a glass fronted, wooden box frame, with a hand-stained finish.
Graduating with a BA Honors in Three Dimensional Design from Manchester Metropolitan University, Lucy has spent over 10 years working on her craft, perfecting her mechanisms inspired by traditional automata and refining her paper sculpture designs, creating a distinct style that plays with colour, geometry and negative space.
After one of her kinetic sculptures was spotted by an Art Director and used on set of a CBBC show, Lucy spent 9 years working part time in Art Departments for Cbeebies, CBBC and Bed Time Stories doing prop making and set dressing, while continuing to grow her kinetic paper sculpture business.
Alongside being featured on TV, Lucy’s sculptures have been featured in award winning window displays, magazines and exhibitions all over world.
