Amy Whittingham*
Amy Whittingham | Glass | Devon
Amy creates sustainable cast glass jewellery and sculpture with a coastal connection for eco-conscious women who love the water.
Amy is pro-glass over plastics. Having grown up on the coast of Dorset, on the sand and in the sea, she is a water baby. Inspired by weathered rope & rusty chain, connecting the earth to the oceans. Amy creates colourful cast glass chain combined with sustainable materials for jewellery & sculpture that doesn't cost the environment.
Amy frequently beach cleans and has combined the sea plastics with glass to create meaningful sculpture. As part of the Green Maker Initiative and a member of Surfers Against Sewage, Amy is actively looking for ways to sustainably improve her systems of making.
Amy is author of Glass Casting a practical book with easy to follow step by step guides to demystify the process of mould making and lost wax for glass. Amy thrives on being able to share her passion & skills for glass process with students in her studio. If you would like to find out more about the classes head to her website.
