Susan's pots are hand built using slabs or coils of white stoneware clay, she uses the flat platform of the pot like a canvas to paint on and convey her feelings of the beautiful Devon landscape where she has her studio.
Painting clay slips, engobes and a variety of glazes in multiple layers and firings can be seen on Susan’s contemporary pots.
Susan's work is inspired from many sketch ideas, abstracting images that are gathered while walking in the Devon countryside.
Susan studied ceramics at Plymouth College of Art and Design, where she was able to develop her own unique style of hand building sculptural ceramics.
