Sabine Nemet | Ceramics | Devon

All of Sabine’s pots are thrown on the potters wheel.

She uses simple glazes and slips to utilize the effects of wood firing.

She fires all her pots with wood from start to finish in a specially built kiln. It takes two days and one night to reach the desired temperature of 1300º.

On the second day she sprays bicarbonate of soda onto the orange glowing pots, which gives a glaze wherever the soda hits the pot in the hot kiln.

Every pot is unique and can never be repeated.
