Eleanor Bartleman | Ceramics | Cornwall

Eleanor Bartleman was raised in Ayrshire, Scotland and studied ceramics at Glasgow School of Art. She has been a maker of ceramics ever since, developing her own distinctive style and imagery. Her work is figurative and has a strong narrative running through it.

Eleanor’s ideas are influenced by myth, legend and fable, and the sources are in human spirit, character and relationship, often portrayed by animal forms.

The individual pieces are hand modelled from porcelain and decorated with slips and stains. They are fired to 1260º after which they are finished with lustres and precious metals.

Eleanor lives and works in North Devon.
