Baskets, Lighting and Furniture

Handmade in Devon

Sarah Le Breton combines her passion for craftsmanship with her sculpting background. Living in South West England, using only locally sourced and often hand harvested Somerset willow and rush materials, Sarah is ever evolving her work. Often inspired by heritage baskets, not only does Sarah make baskets and woven forms using traditional English techniques, but also creates natural sculptural willow lighting.  Aware of our need to save highly endangered aspects of her heritage craft form, Sarah’s love of antique furniture has recently led to her making and showcasing willow seated Arts & Crafts Movement chairs.  To further her knowledge and basketmaking skills, Sarah undertakes training with a 4th generation basketmaker on the Somerset Levels. An accomplished teacher, Sarah’s clientele includes River Cottage, the RHS and the Somerset Rural Life Museum.  Sarah also offers her own Willow Day Workshops, 1 & 2 Day basketmaking courses that are held at Coates English Willow.
