Arvor means ‘coast’ in the Cornish language.
Studio Arvor was founded by Jo Weaden on the North Cornish coast. Jo is a furniture designer maker and has been for over 10 years, she is passionate about the environment and this is reflected in her work.
Studio Arvor designs and hand-crafts furniture and home accessories from our Cornish studio and workshop using plant-based, responsibly-sourced materials with non-toxic finishes. Our items are made for longevity using craftsmanship alongside contemporary designs.
We highlight the provenance of each material and each product, aiming to be as transparent as possible. If you would like more information on the materials or products within our ranges or bespoke items, please contact us.
Studio Arvor contributes to community grant schemes, with 1% of sales being donated to local charities and groups supporting environmental work such as tree planting, nature conservation and outdoor education.
Make a Chopping Board - A Workshop with Jo Weaden from Studio Arvor
Join MAKE Southwest member Jo Weaden for a workshop where you will make your very own chopping board - the perfect gift for a friend or family member!
Using a series of selected hand tools you will be creating individual chopping boards from English hardwood offcuts, such as oak, ash and sycamore from the Studio Arvor workshop.
Through designing, shaping and oiling the chopping boards, Jo will help you to learn how best to use certain hand tools and build confidence in doing so.
Woodworking environments can sometimes be seen as a bit daunting and male-dominated, Jo aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for people with little to no prior experience of woodworking.
No previous woodworking experience is necessary.
All tools and materials will be provided for the day.
