Trial Tiered Ticket Pricing for Children’s Craft Workshops
We want our workshops to be affordable, inclusive, and sustainable. To help us achieve this, we’re trialling a new three-tier ticketing system:
Pay What You Can (PWYC): If you don’t have the cash right now, don’t worry; book this rate and come along, no questions asked. We never want cost to be a barrier to joining in.
General admission: If you can afford to, please book this rate; this is the standard ticket price that covers materials, tutor fees, and running costs.
Supporter: If you’re feeling generous and you have the means, please consider choosing this rate. Paying it forward with a Supporter ticket subsidises our PWYC tickets for families who otherwise couldn’t afford to attend. Generally, our Supporter ticket is the cost of two standard tickets - that’s like paying for yourself and for one other person.
All you have to do is select the price bracket that best suits your budget and continue to checkout.
Why the change?
In the past, when workshops were free or very low-cost, we noticed a lot of last-minute cancellations and no-shows. Unfortunately, this often left us with empty seats and not enough time to invite families on the waiting list. Not only is this disheartening for our tutors and participants, but it also makes it harder for us to secure funding to keep offering these activities in future. By introducing this new structure, we hope to reduce last-minute cancellations while keeping workshops affordable and inclusive.
Cancellation
We ask that you inform us as soon as possible if you can no longer attend, so that we can offer your space to another person on our wait list. Our workshops for families and children are frequently fully booked with wait lists; please help us avoid empty seats and extend the opportunity to get involved to someone else.
On the Day
All tools and materials will be provided. Please do wear comfortable / old clothes. Aprons will be provided if needed.
All participating children must be accompanied by a supervising parent or adult.
Tea, coffee and biscuits alongside water and orange squash will be available throughout the workshop. Our Café is also open should you wish to purchase other refreshments on the day.
To access our workshop space, please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift or any reasonable adjustments to be made for accessibility in advance of the workshop date.
Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces. Click here for more information on our location and car parking for the day.
If you have prior knowledge that you cannot attend the workshop day, please do get in touch so we can offer your ticket to someone on our waiting list. View MAKE Southwest's Cancellation Policy, HERE.
