THE PANDEMIC EFFECT

It was greatly disappointing to find my Guild exhibition, "The Stuff of Nonsense", postponed due to the virus, but lockdown gave me ample time to develop an idea that I wouldn't otherwise have completed.

I had bought an old thimble display case a few months earlier not knowing what I would do with it. The strange concentrated time of lockdown was the perfect catalyst to precipitate the change from Thimble Display Case to S tuff and Nonsense Box.

I had Lockdown Time to fill the hundred little niches with details of prints, found objects, fragments of nonsense verse, small letter cubes, etc., etc. After completing this task I began to construct my own display boxes of just twelve compartments, a more focused art-form that I hope to develop in the future.
