Join MAKE Southwest Maker Member, Anna Rennie to learn the heritage craft of maille making.

Learn the art of Maille Making which is a type of armour consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. In this workshop you will learn how to construct a piece of Maille using the endangered heritage craft skills and will come away with a bracelet and if time permits you will be shown how to make the ring (a Saxon era design) which will be made from a single piece of copper wire.

All materials will be provided, please bring your own refreshments.

Spaces are only available for 14-18 year olds.

There are 2 sessions: 10.30am - 12.30pm OR 2.30 - 4.30pm

On the Day

All tools and materials will be provide.

Please bring your own refreshments.

On arrival, please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.

Please be aware that you cannot use the Co-op car park for all day parking. The Methodist Church car park and Station Road car park usually have plenty of spaces. Click here for more information on our location and car parking for the day.
