Make a Lying-down Sighthound in Clay

Workshop with Sara Evans

Thursday 13 March 2025, 10.30am - 4.30pm

£90

Venue: MAKE Southwest

Suitable for: Adults

Level: All Abilities

Join MAKE Southwest Maker Member, Sara Evans to make a lying-down sighthound (greyhound / whippet) on a base in stoneware clay!

The sculpture is hand built using a combination of pinching, coiling and slabbing. Guidance will be given to make the basic form but there is much scope to individualize and give character to your work.

Sculptures will be fired to stoneware temperature which gives a stone-like appearance.

All outcomes will be taken away for firing by Sara and returned to MAKE Southwest for collection.

All materials and equipment for the workshop are provided.

This workshop is open to all abilities - no previous experience of ceramics or clay is needed!

Firing costs are included in the ticket price.

On the Day

All tools and materials will be provided.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are included and will be available on the day. There will be a short lunch break during the workshop and participants are welcome to bring a packed lunch. Our Café is also open should you wish to purchase other refreshments during the workshop - all participants receive a 10% discount voucher for food and drink purchased on the day.

On arrival, please make your way to the side gate of the Riverside Mill, through the courtyard and up the stone stairs on the side of the building. Please let us know if you require the lift.
